Obituary of Jessie Patterson

It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Jessie Josephine Patterson, age 96, wife of the late William "Willie" G. Patterson, of Hampton, NB, which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on November 6, 2015. Born in Belleisle Creek, NB, on October 15, 1919, she was a daughter of the late Percy and Adele (Hughes) Northrup. Jessie worked for the federal government for several years and was a resident of Saint John for most of her life until she moved to Hampton in 1991 to be closer to her loved ones. Jessie was a member of the Kings County Historical Society and loved reading, travelling, gardening and loved spending time with her cats. Jessie is survived by her son Gary and Linda Patterson of Hampton, NB; two step grandchildren; three step great grandchildren; brother-in-law Allan Ness; and sister-in-law Pearl Murphy; as well as several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Jessie was predeceased by her sisters: Alice Kellier, Frieda Ness and Hazel Neill; brothers, Gerald and Eldon Northrup. Jessie was the last surviving member of her immediate family to pass away. She is resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visitation on Monday, from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8pm. The Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, from Sherwood’s Funeral Chapel conducted by Rev. Kelly Hudson-Lewis. Interment will take place in Fernhill Cemetery, Saint John, NB. Memorial donations may be made to the Beverley Neill Scholarship, Canadian Cancer Society or the memorial of the donor’s choice.
