Obituary of Jean Phippen

Jean Elizabeth Phippen (nee Doncaster) of Embassy Hall in Quispamsis and formerly of Kiersteadville, NB died on Monday, September 12, 2016, surrounded by her loving family and caregivers. Born in Sussex, NB on November 2, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Arden and Flossie (Gamblin) Doncaster. Jean is survived by and will be sadly missed by her 4 children, Gordie Phippen (Karen) of Florenceville, NB, Sue Ness (Bob) of Belleisle Creek, NB, Wendy Boyd (Mitch) of Cambridge-Narrows, NB and Kevin Phippen (Mary Jo) of Picadilly, NB, 14 grandchildren, Vicki, Charles, Cyndi , Jason, Andrew, David ,Erin, Tyler, Ashley, Peter, Alyssa, Shelby, Connor and Kevin,13 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins ,along with her special sister Ann and many lifelong friends. She was predeceased by her brother Bill. Jean was well known and recognized for her sales ability and leadership skills in the Yellow Pages advertising industry. Jean adored children and animals and was a loving grandmother who seldom missed a sporting event and loved to take them on trips and adventures. Jean loved nothing more than friends and family gathering around her, and also loved to cook, play bridge, watch professional sports on TV and sing hymns off tune. She is resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visitation on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, on Thursday, September 15, 2016, from Kiersteadville Baptist Church. Memorial donations in memory of Jean may be made to the Kiersteadville Cemetery or to the memorial of the donor’s choice.
