Obituary of Margaret Ricketson
It is with sadness that the family of Margaret Jean Ricketson, wife of the late Joseph Ricketson, of Hatfield Point, NB, announce her death which occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on October 21, 2016. She was born on July 19, 1933 in Sussex, NB, a daughter of the late Arthur and Bessie (Dyer) Grady.
Margaret had many hobbies which she enjoyed such as embroidery, cooking, baking, canning, preserving and shopping. She loved a good cup of tea or two and could serve up a lunch in a moment’s notice. Going to flea markets, the balloon fiesta, trips to Ottawa and shopping in the states were all things that Margaret loved to do with her family and friends. She enjoyed being at home and watching her favourite TV programs, such as Billy Graham and the Gaithers. Margaret loved her family, enjoying every moment she spent with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her sons: Bruce (Catherine) Ricketson of Sussex, NB, Stephen (Rose) Ricketson of Norton, NB, and Darrell (Karen Munroe) Ricketson of Hatfield Point, NB; grandchildren: Amanda (Shane), Christopher (Karmin), Connie (Lucas), Jordan and Bethany; great grandchildren: Alison, Robert, Carter, Sophia, Ashton and Riley; sisters Reta Surrett and Helen (Valmond) Theriault; and well as several nieces, nephews and cousins. Besides her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her husband Joseph Ricketson; infant brother James; brother Sammy; and infant sister Faye.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, where visitation will be held from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm, on Tuesday, October 25, 2016. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 26, 2016, at 11:00 am from Outreach Pentecostal Church, Hatfield Point, NB. Interment will take place at Bayview Cemetery.
