Richard and Gwen McConnell posted a condolence
To George's Family Gwen and I lived in Millidgeville in the late seventies and early eighties. We knew your parents through the church, and indeed, some of you. Richard also worked at the RKYC. We had the opportunity to see your dad many times through the years--last was in August when he had recovered some health and was in church again. He had a wonderful sparkling smile and a genuine interest in people. We are grateful for having known him, and pray that he and your mom may rest in peace. Please don't feel you need to reply to our best wishes. Gwen is overseas right now and I am looking after grandchildren, so we have been unable to come to the funeral home or the funeral. We will make a donation to St Paul's.

I was very sorry to hear of Reverend Akerley's passing. Our church, St. Peter's Upham, was his first parish and he was quite close to my mother and father's family. My mother is Heather Scott (nee Proctor) and my father was Bertram Scott. I believe he even stayed with my dad's family for the first while he was in Upham. I had the privilege through the years to hear him speak with the last time the anniversary of the church. He will always be remembered very fondly. Accept my sincere sympathy.
