Obituary of John F.W. McDonald
After a full life, the family of John (Mac) F.W. McDonald of Berwick, formerly of Wickham, announce his passing on Saturday April 20th at the Sussex Health Centre, in his 100th year. Born in Antigonish NS, John was the son of the late Daniel and Catherine (McGillivary) McDonald. John is survived by his daughter; Clara of Sydney NS, sons; John (Donna) MacDonald of Millbrook ON, Scott (Linda) McDonald of Stoney Creek ON, Stepchildren; Clair Bostwick, Barb Duncan, Malcolm Bostwick & Donny Bostwick, 29 grandchildren; many, many great grandchildren, and 1 great great granddaughter.
John was predeceased by his 1st wife; Irene (DeCoste) McDonald, 2nd wife; Aileen (Bradshaw) McDonald, 3rd wife; Grace (Mott) McDonald and stepson; Murray Bostwick.
John served in the Canadian Army (Three Rivers Regiment) during the Second World War having seen action in numerous locations in Europe. He had worked as a Stevedore and also had a trucking company and retired as a truck driver with Canada Post. John was a member of Abundant Life Pentecostal Church, Sussex.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton NB, where visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 23, 2019 from 12:00 noon to 2:00 pm followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm in the Sherwood’s Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Belyea’s Cove Cemetery.
