Obituary of Audrey MaGee
It is with great sadness that the family of Audrey Jennie MaGee announces her passing on May 3, 2020 at The Moncton Hospital, New Brunswick. Audrey, age 90, was the beloved wife of Harold Raymond MaGee, who predeceased her in 1998. She was born in Saint John, NB, the daughter of the late Walter James and Eva Rita (Vair) Beyea. She moved to Hampstead, NB in 1950 and resided there until 2003 when she moved to Salisbury. She was a member of the Central Hampstead United Baptist Church for many years, and later became a member of the River Glade Baptist Church.
Audrey is survived by her two sons: Donald (Vanna) of Pleasantville, NS, and Carl (Rose) of Lakeville Corner; and two daughters: Joan Urquhart (Blair) of Lower Kars, and Anne Marr (Jack) of Hampstead. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and several nephews, nieces and cousins. In addition to her husband and parents, Audrey was predeceased by her brothers: Lawrence (Sonny) and Eldon; and sisters: Barbara McEllman, Loretta (Dolly) Buck, and Jean Lortie. She was the last member of her immediate family.
Audrey was a gentle, loving person who doted on her family and late husband. They were the love of her life and she cared for them deeply. She was a person who loved the outdoors and spent much of her life working on her beautiful flower gardens, and helping her husband on the farm. She had a love of cats, particularly kittens, and she had many feline friends over the years.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB. It was Audrey’s wishes that she be cremated and, with the current restrictions on public gatherings due to COVID-19, there will be no service at the present time. There will be an interment of her remains at Central Hampstead Cemetery at a later date, with a private family ceremony.
Memorial donations in memory of Audrey may be made to the Central Hampstead Cemetery or the charity of the donor’s choice. Personal condolences to the family and donations may be made through www.sherwoodsfuneralhome.com
