Obituary of Barbara Carpenter
The death of Barbara Ann (Jones) Carpenter, age 64, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on Thursday, November 11, 2010. She was the wife of Murray (Bud) Carpenter, of Kars, NB. Barbara was born on January 25, 1946, in Saint John, NB, the daughter of the late LeRoy and Jean (Willigar) Jones.
To Mom there were no strangers in the world, just friends she hadn’t met yet and anyone that met her knew right away that she was a kind, caring and thoughtful person. She spent her life caring for others and never put herself first. Mom loved making people happy, whether it was calling you up just to say hello or making her crafts to share with others. Even with her health failing she kept her never-give-up positive attitude and she showed us just how courageous and strong she really was. There are just too many words that can be used to describe her but the ones that do it the best are wife, mother and friend.
Barbara is survived by her loving husband of 43 years, Murray; daughter Margie Carpenter; son James Carpenter both of Kars, NB; sister Gladys Earle of Kingston, NB; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by daughter Shelia Carpenter; sisters Evelyn Blakley and Lucy Earle; brothers Arthur, George, Henry and Earl.
She is resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visiting on Sunday from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral service, conducted by The Rev. Chris VanBuskirk, will be held from Sherwood’s Chapel at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, November 15, 2010. Interment will follow in Bethel Cemetery, Kars.
