The passing of Georgie Frances (Hutchinson) Thorne occurred Monday, January 10, 2011. She was 99. Born on December 13, 1911, in Mercer Settlement, NB, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Letitia (Keirstead) Hutchinson. Georgie is survived by one daughter Jean and Michael Storey of Fredericton; one son Harold and Brenda Thorne of North Carolina; three sisters, Myrtle Foster of Quispamsis, Peggy Anderson of Fredericton, Mabel Little of Saint John; four brothers Murray Hutchinson of Union Settlement, Fred and Eileen Hutchinson of Mercer Settlement, Howard and Dorothy Hutchinson of Sussex, and Donald and Harriet Hutchinson of Grand Bay. She is also survived by six grandchildren Rev. Donald Grant, Kevin Thorne, Janice Bell, Linda Grant, Ruth Everett, and Alex Thorne, sixteen great grandchildren, seven great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her husband William B. Thorne; her mother and father; six brothers Harold, Gordon, Kenneth, William, Lorne and Charles; two sisters Olive Jones and Gertrude Scriven; two grandsons Edward Grant and Blair Thorne. She is resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (839-2156) 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with Visiting on Friday, January 14, 2011, at 1:00 p.m. Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Donald Grant, will follow in Sherwood’s Chapel at 2:00 p.m. Interment in Union Cemetery, Belleisle Creek, NB, will follow in the spring.
