Obituary of Leonard Hart
The death of Leonard Hart, age 91, husband of Gladys (O’Neill) Hart of Belleisle Creek, NB, occurred at the Ridgewood Veterans Wing, Saint John, NB, on Saturday, May 7, 2011. He was born on September 26, 1919, in England, the son of the late George and Caroline (Williamson) Hart.
He came to Canada with his parents in 1929. Leonard served overseas in World War II from 1941 to 1945 in the R.C.A.S.C. He was an active member of the Anglican Parish of Upper Kennebecasis and the Belleisle Senior's Club.
Leonard is survived by his wife of 59 years, Gladys; daughters Patti Wisted and Orrin Smith of Berwick, NS, and Pam Folkins of Belleisle Creek, NB; grandchildren Rebecca and Rachel Wisted and Matthew Folkins; sisters Edna Howe of Roachville, NB, Joan Renshaw of Halifax, NS; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He is resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visiting on Tuesday, from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Celebration of Leonard’s life, conducted by Rev. Wally Collett, will be held on Wednesday, May 11, 2011, at 11:00 a.m.. from St. Simon & St. Jude’s Anglican Church, Belleisle Creek, NB. Interment will follow in St. Simon & St. Jude’s Cemetery.
