Obituary of Ray Beechin

The death of Raymond Murray Beechin, age 79, husband of Ruth (McNair) Beechin of Riverbank, NB, occurred at the Sussex Health Centre, NB, on Wednesday, July 6, 2011. He was born on June 23, 1932, the son of the late Millard and Florence (Ferris) Beechin. Ray was a loving husband, father & grampie. His greatest pride was his family. He was a man that loved life and everything that went along with it. He was a man of great faith…quite simply put ‘he just believed God would take care of any situation’. Ray loved the great outdoors as hunting was in his blood; something that had been passed down through the generations and still lives on in his son and grandsons. One of his favourite pass times was puttering in his workshop & creating beautiful works of art out of wood; we all have many momentos of his handiwork! Ray was never in a hurry. He enjoyed getting up early in the mornings and going to the All Seasons Restaurant, where they all knew him by name and what he wanted before he even placed his order. In the end Raymond’s heart may have been weak, but it was still as big as ever. His kindness and generosity attested to that, as anyone that knew him would agree. Our loss surely is Heaven’s gain Ray is survived by his wife of 57 years, Ruth; son Chris and Tammy Beechin of Riverbank, NB; daughter Colleen and Bill Fudge of Saint John, NB; grandsons Ryan and Ben; sister Roberta; brothers Arthur and Shirley, Ken, Gerald and Maureen; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother Robert. He is resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visiting on Sunday from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Celebration of Ray’s life, conducted by Pastor Fred Wickett, will be held on Monday, July 11, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. from Outreach Pentecostal Church, Hatfield Point, NB. A private family interment will follow in Riverbank Cemetery. Donations in memory of Ray, may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the memorial of the donor’s choice.
