The death of George Byron McKiel, age 83, husband of Ruth (Urquhart) McKiel, of Wickham, NB, occurred at the Saint John Regional Hospital, on Wednesday, October 12, 2011. He was born on December 14, 1927, in MacDonald’s Point, NB, the son of the late Robert and Effie (Chapman) McKiel. George is survived by his wife Ruth; daughters Andrea and Ray Leger of Moncton, Allyson Maillet of Wickham, Janet and Brent Scott of Glassville, and Jennifer and Dwayne Lewis of Belleisle Creek; grandchildren Adam and Jeremy Leger, Robyn and Catherine Maillet, Shannon and Melissa McIntosh, and Christian Lewis; brother Daryl McKiel of Victoria, BC; sister Erma McKiel of Wickham. The family will receive visitors at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, on Monday, October 17, 2011, from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 p.m. There will be no service.
