Obituary of Margaret Colpitts
The death of Margaret Lorna Colpitts, age 96, wife of the late Herbert G. Colpitts of Norton, NB, occurred at the Sussex Health Centre, on January 20, 2012. She was born on July 29, 1915, in Mercer Settlement, NB, the daughter of the late Ira and Edna (Thompson) Mercer.
Margaret was a member of the Norton United Baptist Church. She loved her family very much. She never complained or had a negative comment about anyone. Margaret enjoyed her home on the farm, the animals and the birds. It was a real treat for her to get outside for a few hours.
Margaret is survived by her four daughters Edna and Jim Chown of Sussex, Shirley McLeod of Saint John, Barbara and Rick Dennison of Sussex, and Linda Colpitts of Norton; two sons Bill and Treva Colpitts of Norton and Hallie Colpitts and Janet Main of Sussex; grandchildren Joanne, Steven, Mark, Debbie, Kathy, Steven, Graham, Michael, Ann-Marie, Lorna, April, Gary, Kimberley, Andrea, Sandy, Lisa, Chris and Jason; great grandchildren Ryan, Ashley, Erika, Scott, Kyle, Jasper, Corey, Kerry, Clinton, Meghan, Cicily, Cameron, Brooke, Monica, Will, Kaitlyn, Jonathan, Jessica, Brandon, Abbey, Ashley, Marty, Andrew, Sarah and Alex; great-great grandchildren Emma, Brooklyn, Austin, Avrie, Heather, Zane, Mya, and Anika; one sister Ruth King of Norton; two brothers Harry Mercer of Hamilton, ON and Lawson Mercer of Bloomfield; several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sisters Annie and Sarah; brother Robert Mercer; daughter-in-law Thelma (Jan) Colpitts; and son-in-law Calvin McLeod.
She is resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visitation from 3 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm., on Sunday, January 22, 2012. Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Wayne Murphy, will be held at 11:00 am,, on Monday, January 23, 2012, from the Norton United Baptist Church. Interment will take place in Riverbank Cemetery in the spring.
