Surrounded by his family, Robert Arthur (Bob) McKay, age 76, died peacefully at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital, in Fredericton, on March 3, 2012. He was the husband of the late Joan McKay of Hampstead, NB. Bob was born on March 12, 1935, in Saint John, NB, the son of the late Percy and Hazel (Flowers) McKay. Bob is survived by son Freeman and Joyce McKay of Hampstead; daughters Mary Lou Slipp and Ralph Lawson of Wickham, Marlene and James Cookson of Kars, Rosanne and Harry Thomson of Queenstown, and Donna and Jeff Urquhart of Cumberland Bay; grandchildren John, Justin and Curtis McKay, Valerie, James and Laura Slipp, Kathleen Cookson, Adam and Sarah Thomson, Roland, Logan and Olivia Urquhart; mother-in-law Laura MacNamara; a niece, a nephew and several cousins. He was predeceased by his sister Joan Walker. He is resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visiting on Tuesday from 2 to 8 pm. Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Lisa Pacarynuk, will be held at 11:00 am., Wednesday, March 7, 2012, from St. Stephen’s Anglican Church, Queenstown, NB.
