Obituary of Jean Ness
Surrounded by her family, Jean Evelyn (Muir) Ness, age 82, wife of Ronald Ness of Belleisle Creek, NB, passed away peacefully and gracefully, at her home, on March 12, 2012. She was born in Collina, NB, on January 9, 1930, the daughter of the late Herbert and Evelyn (Kierstead) Muir.
Jean will be sadly missed by Ron, her husband of 62 years; daughters Brenda and Peter Pope, Vicky and Dan McLaughlin, Gwen and Roy Jr. Pope, Lana and Dale Waite, Mary Jane and Trevor McMillan; sons Bob and Sue Ness and Tim Ness; 17 grandchildren Anthony Pope (Sherry), Bradley Pope (Susan), Jeanette Howley (Jeremy), Christopher McLaughlin (Stephanie Cripps and Brett), Jennifer McLaughlin (Allan Frigault and Brandon and William), Gregory McLaughlin, Andrew Ness (Tara), David Ness (Rebecca Evans), Erin Johnston (Courtney), Kristopher Pope, Jillian Wilson (Andrew), Jensen Pope, Kyle Pope (Kaylee Raymond) Caleb Waite, Cassidy Waite, Kirk McMillan and Colby McMillan; 9 great grandchildren Connor and Cameron Pope, Emmerson and Avery Pope, Hillary, Morgan, and Drew Ness, Hannah and Hayden Wilson, ; brothers Mansel Muir of Belleisle Creek, and Maurice and Rose Muir of Connecticut; sister-in-law Pauline Muir of Sussex, Hattie Northrup of Sussex, Mary and Howard Joynes of Belleisle Creek, and Patricia Ness of Ottawa; brothers-in-law Robert and Eleanor Ness, Ray and Helen Ness, Jack and Madeline Ness, Allan and Frieda Ness, all of Sussex; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sons Stephen and Bruce; brothers Otty and George Muir; sisters Helen Muir, Dorothea Stewart and Elspeth Crealock; sisters-in-law Yvonne Muir and Jean Ness; brothers-in-law Douglas Stewart, Otis Crealock, Russell Ness, Ed Ness, Don Ness and Gerald Northrup.
She is resting at Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB, with visiting on Tuesday from 6 to 8 pm. and Wednesday from 2 to 5 and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral service, conducted by Rev. Tom Robinson, will be held at 11:00 am., Thursday, March 15, 2012, from Kings Kirk United Church, Belleisle Creek, NB. A private family interment will take place following the service in Union Cemetery. A reception to follow.
Jean will always be remembered for her kind and gentle nature, her love of gardening and flowers, her famous apple pie, and her ability to always make room for one more person around her table.
