I was very saddened to learn of Rick's passing. My sincere condolences to family and those closest to him on your loss. We worked together at the City of Saint John for 23 years, played a little hockey and shared many experiences during that time. Rick was intelligent, thoughtful, and supportive. He always tried to help those around him find solutions and smarter ways of doing things. He was the definition of a team player. "Nothing ventured, nothing gained". RIP Rick. Shayne Galbraith

Sharon and all of Rick’s family, We were so saddened to hear of Rick’s passing, our hearts go out to each one as you face this great loss. I am so sorry to hear of this sad news. I remember being up in Wickham and not able to get my water running properly and Rick and Sharon showed up with all the equipment to get everything working for me. He was so selfless and willing to help anyone. Also good memories of back in the North end of Saint John and St Peters school. My prayers are with you Sharon and the whole family. My condolences to the McFarlane family. I served as a volunteer with Rick at the Police Museum. He was welcoming - kind - and humorous. I enjoyed our conversations where we would resolve the political issues of the city - the province - the country - and the world! The stories he shared while having a coffee in the backroom or standing out front of the museum always brought on fits of laughter. He was a great person and he will be missed. The MacFarlane Family; On behalf of the Saint John City Police Retired Members Association please accept our sincere condolences on the passing of Rick! Rick worked his magic for me and others keeping us on the road to do our job. Rick performed his magic particularly with car 128! What a bomb! He even rode shotgun on several occasions to enjoy his efforts. A fabulous mechanic, a real gentleman and a dedicated mechanic to the Police Force. Thanks Rick for the memories!
