Irene was always such a loving presence in my life. She was ALWAYS helping others, and she always had a beautiful smile. I definitely enjoyed lots of yummy treats at her home! I read some of the memories and they resonated with me. Irene was always so kind to me, loving and accepting me unconditionally. I look forward to a great reunion in heaven. She gave the best hugs! I never cut onions without smiling and thinking of Irene. Karen and i were new to Norton Wesleyan and helping with the Christmas banquet. She sharply critiqued my onion cutting to see what i would say. I quietly took the onions and chopped them so finely that it was mush...and she realized i did it to mess with her. Called her "Mom" after that day. Visited her at home, at KNH and in hospital until we moved in 2018. Lots of great memories. Someday in heaven. Someday forever.

To the Family,
Irene was a special part of the Norton Wesleyan Church that I grew up in. Always at Ruth's side, and now both gone. The pair spent many hours working on decor for many Christmas & Easter Pageants and I will always remember that. Well you are together once again! RIP Irene!

It was with great sadness I learned of Irene’s passing. I spent a lot of time at Irene’s during my teenage years. She welcomed me into her brood as if I were her own. Even though I was not a Foster child, I received as much love as each of those in her care. She really was a second Mom to me. She always had an encouraging word and wonderful hugs that made you feel special. I will miss her dearly. To Dwayne and Dale, I watched you both grow into young men. Thank you for sharing your mom.

Dear John, Dwayne and Dale, it is with great sadness that I learned of Irene's passing. She was a dear friend, one I could trust with my hope, dreams and secrets. Irene was like a sister to me and we shared so much together over the years.
