Obituary of Erna Maude Codling

It is with great sadness that the family of Erna Maude Codling announce her passing which occurred on Friday, January 27, 2023, at the Sussex Health Centre, Sussex, NB. Born in Gibbon Mountain, NB, on October 30, 1945, she was the daughter of the late Warren and Grace (Baxter) Johnston.

Erna is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Glen Codling; children: John Codling (Rebecca) of Kingston, NB, Jarred Codling (Stacy) of Amherst, NS, Joel Codling of Sussex Corner, NB and Andrea Hutchins (Brian) of Cumberland Bay, NB; grandchildren: Ryan Codling, Ryder Codling, Chase Codling, Brianne Hutchins and Rosalee Hutchins; brothers: Charles Johnston (Joan) of Norton, NB and George Johnston (Bertha) of Sussex, NB; sisters: Margaret Long of Sussex, NB, Brenda Perry (Lloyd) of Penobsquis, NB and Betty Francis (Junior) of Berwick, NB; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Erna was predeceased by her infant sister Vivian Johnston.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (839-2156) 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 31, 2023, from 4 to 7PM from the Norton Wesleyan Church. The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, February 1, 2023 at 2:00PM from the Norton Wesleyan Church. A private interment will take place in the spring at Riverbank Cemetery, Riverbank, NB.
