Obituary of Dave Francis

It is with great sadness that the family of David “Dave” Frederick Francis announce his passing which occurred on Tuesday, June 20, 2023, at the Daeka Care Facility, Hampton, NB. Born in Saint John, NB, on July 16, 1950, he was the son of the late Frederick and Frances (Eveleigh) Francis.

Dave spent his first years growing up in Sussex, NB, then moving to Ontario as a teenager. He returned to New Brunswick in the 1980’s. He spent years tinkering in the garage and became a proficient paint and body man.  He enjoyed being a truck driver and loved to drive. His happy place was at the trailer on Belleisle Bay, and he was the KING of the one liner.

Dave is survived by his wife Dolores Francis; children: Kristopher Francis of Lunenburg, NS, Sarah Wright (Steve) of Mount Forest, ON and Donna Francis of Guelph, ON; grandchildren: Karley, Justin, Julian, Liam, Alyssa, Katilyn, Kassie and Ben; brother Dwight Francis (Debbie) of Hampton, NB; as well as many very special nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends. In addition to his parents, Dave was predeceased by his brother Dug Francis; and step-son Robb Costello.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to the staff of Daeka Care Facility for all the care given over the years. He cherished his Daeka family and all the caregivers, especially “Lucy” and “Sudsy”! Your kindness and compassion shown towards Dave and his family will not be forgotten.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB. Celebration of life will be held for Dave on Saturday July 1st from 2-4pm in the Hanger at Matt and Lori Francis’s , 410 rte 845, Kingston. Bring your lawn chairs and your coolers as we celebrate Dave. Donations in memory of Dave may be made to the Robb Costello Memorial Fund or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
