Sue and I learned last night of Allan's passing, and of course we are shocked and saddened by this news. We think too Karen, of our recent visits together. Naturally, my mind goes back to my childhood, and growing up with Allen in McDonald's Point. After being away for many years and returning to the 'Point', Allen and I got reacquainted and one summer did some house painting together, which is a fond memory to me. Sorry to hear this sad news. Many of us on Grand Manan are lucky to have Allan’s art on our walls. He had such an eye for capturing the magic of this place. I remember too how generous he was, distributing unsold donuts to market vendors and often supplying them to charitable events. It was always a pleasure to talk with him and share in his sense of humour.
