Charlie was one of the “Good ol’ boys”. I’m going to miss his wise-cracks, and good sense of humor. He had strong faith in God and was a solid fixture at the Hatfield Point Baptist church. It will not be the same there without Charlie. My sincere condolences to his family.

I was very sorry to read of Charlie's death. My sympathies to all the family. Charlie was a very special man, on many levels. I will share two memories. Charlie and I used to sit together in Sunday School. The two memories are from those times. On one occasion, when I came into the church I ran into four or five people who started to grin when they saw me. I sat down beside Charlie and asked, "Why do people break out grinning when they see me?" Charlie just looked at me with a serious look on his face and said, "You really don't want to know." That was Charlie's humourous level. Another time we were sitting together after I returned from the missionary trip to India and Nepal. Charlie asked if it was a scary trip. I told him there were times when I never felt safer than on that trip. Charlie quietly said, "You know, sometimes when I was in the woods I would just stop the skidder and pray for your safety." That was Charlie's eternal level. I know of no one else who did that. As I said he was special. PS Yesterday, I was told I have heart failure. I think they have got it under control, but I will not make the funeral.

To the Neill Family, We were so sorry to hear of Charlie's passing. Charlie was among the first 21 shareholders in the SNB Wood Co-operative organization. He supported SNB all his life and we would like to thank him for that. Always being involved in the forestry, whether cutting wood, repairing saws or attending meetings Charlie always greeted you with a smile. His quick wit and grin were always present, especially when telling stories. We will miss him greatly and extend our deepest sympathy to his family & friends. RIP Charlie.
