Obituary of Barry Saunders

It is with sadness, that the family of Barry John Saunders of Kars, NB, husband of Donna (Hay) Saunders announces his passing on December 27, 2023 at the Sussex Health Centre.  He was born on June 10, 1947 in Saint John, NB, a son of the late John and June (Penfold) Saunders.

Barry will be fondly remembered and sadly missed by his wife Donna of 52 years; daughters: Patricia MacNab (Robert Carey) of New Minas, NS, Bobbi-Jo (Mark) Desruisseau of Sussex, NB; son Barry Saunders (Lisa Vanderkaay) of Spruce Grove, AB; grandchildren: Ryan, Jacy, Robert, Nicholas, Jeremy, Darren, Nathan, Maea, Dylan, Adalie; great-grandchildren: Stirling, Carter, Penelope, Asher, Elsie, Skye, Aleena; brothers: Robert (Christine) Saunders, Mike (Marie) Saunders, John (Karen) Saunders; sisters: Sally Bernard, Linda Robertson, Suzanne (Stewart) Chestnut, Molly (Chris) DeLany; brother-in-law Donald Byers and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his grandson Eric; sister Ann Byers; brothers-in-law John Robertson, Raymond Bernard; and parents-in-law Robert and Hellen (Tayes) Hay.

Barry loved to spend time hunting and fishing.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Center (506-839-2156) 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB.  A public celebration of Barry’s life will be held at a later date.
