Obituary of Wendy Alcorn
It is with broken hearts the family of Wendy Louise Alcorn announce her very sudden passing at the Moncton City Hospital on Monday, May 13, 2024, at the age of 69. She was born on November 17, 1954, at the Saint John Regional Hospital. Widow of the late Richard (Grampie) Alcorn. The daughter of the late Elmer (Inky) and Louise (Bannister) MacNeill.
Wendy is survived by her son Rick Alcorn; daughter Lisa (Jon) Fairweather all from Norton; sister Kathy (Brent) Rice of Sussex; nephew Jason Swetnam (Sabrina Nason) of Baxter's Corner; brother-in-law Ernest Raven of Norton; and nieces and nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her sister Sharon, her son Michael, and her grandson Mark.
Wendy married her high school sweetheart when she was 17 and moved to Norton where she raised her family and was an avid member of the community. She worked at Cripps General Store for 34 years before its closing. She was a councilor, deputy mayor, and mayor of Norton over a span of many years. She retired from the Circle K in Norton in 2020.
Wendy also taught Sunday School for 15 years. She was a member of the Happy Trumpers Bridge Club from 1990 to 2010. She participated in community events as often as she could.
Her family and pets were her first passion in life. Her other passions were reading, SPCA bingo, scratch tickets (incredibly lucky), and family game nights. She loved getting out to the Mechanic Lake Camp every summer.
