Obituary of Margaret Edith McMillan
It is with great sadness that the family of Margaret Edith McMillan announces her passing which occurred on February 10, 2022 at Kiwanis Nursing Home. Born in Belleisle Creek, NB, on September 3, 1929, she was a daughter of the late Clarence and Kathleen (Folkins) Muir.
Margaret not only taught school during her working years, but she also taught others her passions in life. She enjoyed knitting, needle work, baking, quilting, as well as many other activities. Margaret shared many of her hobbies and talents with her kids and grandkids.
She is a woman who will always be remembered.
Margaret is survived by her loving children: Larry McMillan (Bernice) of Fredericton, NB, Janet Duke (Dale) of Whitby, ON, Jack McMillan of Midland, NB, Pat Phippen of Florenceville, NB, Rick McMillan (Karen) of Belleisle Creek, NB, Teri Madden (Adrian) of Titusville, NB, Mike McMillan (Carol) of Belleisle Creek, NB, Kathy Hatfield (Mark) of Hatfield Point, NB, Tim McMillan (Sherri) of Norton, NB, and Jeff McMillan (Marilyn) of Norton, NB; son-in-law Rich Park of NL; thirty-six grandchildren; fifty-seven great grandchildren; three great great grandchildren; as well as many extended family members.
In addition to her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her loving husband of 70 years, C. Purdy McMillan; daughter, Debby Park; daughter-in-law, Joan McMillan; brothers: Ted, Malcolm, David, and Lloyd Muir; and sisters: Christina Neill and Eleanor McCafferty.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Sherwood’s Funeral Home and Life Tribute Centre (506-839-2156), 18 Scovil Road, Norton, NB. Due to COVID-19 restrictions and the family’s wishes, private services will be held.
The family would like to express a special thank you to the Kiwanis Nursing Home for the care given to Margaret. Your kindness and compassion will not be forgotten.
